Pretty Girl is our second cat. After we lost Alley, our first, we knew we wanted another companion. We found Pretty Girl at a rescue shelter, and she’s been part of the family ever since.

Now 17 years old, she’s still very much the boss of the house. She has a habit of sitting by her food bowls a few minutes before mealtime—we like to think she’s praying. It sure looks like it.

Here she is, peacefully sleeping with our cross of Jesus, looking for all the world like she’s praying in her dreams—captured perfectly on this mouse pad.
