Cancer Support Community North Texas takes the scary out of cancer and helps people
impacted by this disease thrive. Our evidence-backed programming, including individual
counseling and support groups led by licensed mental health professionals, nutritional and
exercise programming, fun social activities, and our Noogieland program for kids, is completely
donor-funded. Studies show that the psychosocial-emotional aspect of cancer support provided
by CSCNT is as vital as medical treatment.

Leslie McDonald
My name is Duncan. This is my daughter, Leslie McDonald. In 2021, she passed away from
breast cancer. She was 33 years old at the time of her passing. She was the mother of one
daughter. She was a very happy go-lucky person. She was always smiling. Her favorite movie
was Young Frankenstein and when I walked her down the aisle, we walked the “walk this way”,
which is from the movie. I miss and talk to her every day.
My name is Talana. Leslie was my stepdaughter. When she was 14 years old, we went to
Krogers to get groceries and as we were checking out she grabbed my right arm, looked up at
me with puppy dog eyes and said very loudly, “thank you for feeding me”. Everybody looked at
me and she laughed her head off.
If you would like to make a donation in Leslie’s name, please hold Ctrl and click the link
above her picture. Or if you want to buy the painting below for $500 all the money goes straight
to the Cancer Support Community of North Texas. We also donate 10% of all sales of our
Abstract Paintings in her name. When Leslie was 15 years old, her best friend and her were
with me when I painted this painting.
